Certified Roots of Success instructors may use this section of the website to access to the following resources:

We are streamlining the process of collecting class data and simplifying the forms we require for each class. You can download a detailed memo describing the new program data collection procedure, or read through the instructions below:

  • Print and complete a ”Program Data Collection Sheet” for each class; then schedule a time with Brandi Campbell (Brandi@rootsofsuccess.org) to submit the information over the phone.
  • We have simplified the “Instructor Survey” and “Participant Survey“:
  • When you are ready to request graduation certificates, email shamar@rootsofsuccess.org with a final list of participant names (indicating those who missed modules or withdrew early,) along with the graduation date and mailing address.
  • We will no longer require that you submit quiz response tallies — you do not need to collect this data anymore, unless you want to.

  • Online Module Quiz Links (BETA — please email us if you are interested)
    The following links will allow students to take their module quizzes online. Please do not send the link to students until you have completed the module and they are ready to take the quiz. The online quiz platform will submit student responses to Roots of Success, so you will no longer need to submit a ‘Quiz Tally Sheet.’ However, it will not grade the quiz or display the correct answers, so you must continue to review the quiz with students after they have finished.

  • Updated Course Materials
    • Activity: How Long Will I Last? (Waste Module)
      >>>We developed an updated version of the Waste Module’s ‘How Long Will I Last?’ activity for the High Schools & Youth Programs curriculum, based on feedback we received from instructors and participants using earlier versions — many of whom felt the activity provided students with far too many options, and didn’t offer sufficient support to guide participants to the the correct matches. The update now includes only 9 common waste products, and separates them into “Organic Waste” and “Inorganic Waste” categories — which will allow participants to use their new knowledge of how these materials differ to make the choices less overwhelming. We also include a note on the worksheet reminding students that plastic materials never truly decompose, only break down into smaller and smaller pieces — something we heard that a lot of participants had questions about after this activity. If you’d like to take advantage of this update please insert the new Instructor’s Manual pages into your manual; and print out copies of the updated Student Workbook page for each participant to use instead of the worksheet in their workbook.
