Roots of Success Certificate of Completion

An Environmental Educator is an action-oriented communicator who has sufficient knowledge, skills and understanding of environmental topics and concerns to be able to analyze and make informed decisions about environmental issues and share this information with diverse audiences.

WHY WOULD SOMEONE BECOME AN ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATOR?

  • Work in any sector of the economy: public, private, and nonprofit.
  • Share their knowledge of environmental issues, problems, and solutions with others.
  • Motivate individuals and businesses to reduce water, waste and energy and enact sustainability initiatives.
  • Empower individuals and communities to develop the communication tools they need to promote environmental awareness and organize against injustice. Inspire behavioral changes that improve environmental and health outcomes.

1. Complete the Roots of Success Fundamentals Module
2. Complete the Roots of Success Community Organizing and Leadership Module
3. Complete at least four environmentally focused Roots of Success Modules
4. Pass the Roots of Success Environmental Educator Exam
5. Receive an Environmental Educator Certificate.

Note: Former Roots of Success students who have completed the first 3 requirements are eligible to take the Environmental Educator Exam.
