The ROS Apprenticeship the first and only federally recognized Department of Labor “Career Technical Educator – Environmental Literacy Instructor” Registered Apprenticeship Program. CTE is a program of study that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers. The Apprenticeship is offered to Roots of Success Instructors, who complete the Apprenticeship after teaching the course four times. The program includes supplemental materials which can be accessed through the RoS Community of Practice once Apprentices are licensed and certified as Roots of Success Instructors.
The ROS Pre-Apprenticeship is offered to Roots of Success students/program participants and is articulated to the Roots of Success Pre-Apprenticeship Standards. Students receive an “Environmental Specialist” Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate upon completion of the 10-module Roots of Success course. Pre-Apprenticeship programs build the basic literacy, math, and work-readiness skills today’s employers require, and help workers, including youth and job seekers with beginner skill levels, begin a pathway to a career. The program includes supplemental materials, which licensed and certified Roots of Success Instructors.can access through the RoS Community of Practice.

A Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) is a proven model of apprenticeship that has been validated by the U.S. Department of Labor or a State Apprenticeship Agency.
