The ROS Apprenticeship the first and only federally recognized Department of Labor “Career Technical Educator – Environmental Literacy Instructor” Registered Apprenticeship Program. CTE is a program of study that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers. The Apprenticeship is offered to Roots of Success Instructors, who complete the Apprenticeship after teaching the course four times.
The ROS Pre-Apprenticeship is offered to Roots of Success students/program participants and is articulated to the Roots of Success Pre-Apprenticeship Standards. Students receive an “Environmental Specialist” Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate upon completion of the 10-module Roots of Success course. Pre-Apprenticeship programs build the basic literacy, math, and work-readiness skills today’s employers require, and help workers, including youth and job seekers with beginner skill levels, begin a pathway to a career.
