Nathan D. and Jacob B., two outstanding recent graduates of Asian Neighborhood Design’s Employment Training Center, have been hired as Environmental Outreach Assistants at the San Francisco Department of the Environment. AND — a more than 30 year old non-profit architecture, community planning, employment training, and support services organization in San Francisco — uses the Roots of Successcurriculum as part of their Employment Training Center, which prepares low-income youth and young adults for careers in the green construction field.

With the Department of Environment Nathan and Jacob will conduct environmental outreach and projects throughout San Francisco ranging from energy efficiency and zero waste initiatives to toxics reduction and food security, with a heavy emphasis on neighborhoods most impacted. The entire Roots of Success staff congratulates these two for their achievements and celebrates yet another example of the curriculum being used to prepare the people who most need work for the work that most needs to be done.
